QOTD: ‘Animal Farm’ – George Orwell

George Orwell’s ‘Animal Farm’ is about a bunch of animals on a farm who overthrows human authority to gain control to establish an equal government within the farm. Even though in the beginning all animals were treated equally and fairly, as new authorities come to power, some animals were treated more favorably than others. The pigs who were in command make this proclamation “all animals are equal but some are more equal than others”, implying the hypocrisy of stating someone will be favored over others regardless they are all equal. Some things are universal regardless of who stays in power. In today’s case, our political leaders also promise us this and that while everyone can clearly see who is benefitting and who is not.
